Dr. Gregory Lesinski has been awarded a one year pilot grant from the Pilot and Collaborative Transitional and Clinical Science program. Providing researchers with the necessary funds needed to complete preliminary studies, this grant gives Lesinski the opportunity to study a “novel class of anti-cancer, small molecule inhibitors, that are actually derived from a natural product called curcumin.”

The Ohio State University recently became one of the first academic institutions to install a new piece of cell culture equipment known as the Robotic Manipulator Arm, or ROMA. This equipment will increase the efficiency and accuracy of early drug discovery assays.

Cancer patients and survivors, family members and friends, and clinical staff at the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center - James are invited to hear about advances in lung cancer treatment and symptom management at a conference titled “Living with Lung Cancer: Support for Patients and Families” from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Gateway Health and Wellness Center, 112 N. Jefferson Ave.

The CCTS Biomedical Informatics core and OSUMC Information Warehouse (IW) will be hosting a “drop-in/free clinic” for data access support on the first Monday of every month from 3-4pm in the CCTS Prior Library Offices. Representatives from both groups will be there to answer questions and discuss what services the IW offers, as well as what data is available and how to access it.
