A second workshop focused on Space Microbiome Research will take place virtually on May 13 from 2-5 p.m. This event will have two keynote presentations from NASA scientists and include breakout room sessions focused on: microbiology of the built environment; how extreme environments and associated microbiomes impact human and plant health; and the role of the microbiome in food production in artificial and remote environments. The goal of this workshop is to establish a space microbiome research community at Ohio State, forge closer connections between the broader space research community across the state and to develop an action plan for pursuing research and establishing Ohio State's preeminence in this area.
