NCATS Online Course in Translational Science

Register now for a NEW seven-week online translational science course designed by the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

MEDI 502: Translational Science in the COVID-19 Pandemic - Accelerating and Enhancing our Response Across Preclinical, Clinical, and Population Health Research - is offered by NCATS in partnership with the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences (FAES), which is located at the NIH.

The course describes in detail a range of recent and ongoing research activities - from preclinical to clinical to population health - that were led or supported by NCATS in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this lens, the course teaches students effective approaches and strategies in translational science that have been key to the success of these efforts and are generalizable to other translational research activities.

Students will learn about myriad ways translational science approaches are contributing to addressing the COVID-19 pandemic and will leave the course equipped with a set of wide-ranging strategies they can apply in their future work in translational research.

The course is relevant to individuals in a range of roles - including scientists, administrators, and specialists in scientific collaboration - and is appropriate across all career stages, from students to senior scientists.

This one-credit course requires a time commitment of about one hour per week to listen to course lectures, plus time to complete course readings and other short assignments.

2.    Click on "Applicant Portal Homepage" 
3.    Click on "Create a New Account" and complete the form  

There is a short wait time after submitting the form while FAES reviews the information submitted.  After this review, the account will be activated and the prospective student will receive an email with the subject heading "Welcome to FAES" and will be able to register for MEDI502.
