What: NIH U01 Grant Keynote Lecture

Jose Serrano, M.D., Ph.D., Program Director of the Division of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition at the NIDDK, oversees an extensive portfolio of research involving liver, gastrointestinal, neuroendocrine, and pancreas processes.
Dr. Serrano serves as the Program Official for investigator-initiated grants in: acute and chronic pancreatitis; pancreas basic research and development; pancreas clinical research and epidemiology; hereditary and pediatric disorders of the pancreas; endocrine tumors of the pancreas; gastrointestinal physiology, development, and epithelial biology digestive diseases clinical research; gastrointestinal neuroendocrinology; translational and basic liver disease research; liver clinical research. Dr. Serrano also serves as the Project Scientist or Program Official for multiple consortia/cooperative agreements.
