Webinar of Research for National Fall Prevention Week

Seminars & Lectures

Wednesday, Sep 8, 2021
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
@ Online

Twin sisters and College of Medicine faculty Katie Quatman-Yates, PT, PhD (PT Division), and Carmen Quatman, MD,

PhD (Ortho Trauma), will be featured during National Fall Prevention week through the National Council on Aging webinar series. Dr. Quatman was the recipient of a Davis Bremer Path to K Grant from the CCTS, which funded the study being featured.

Drs. Quatman-Yates and Quatman partnered with a local fire department/EMS to pilot a fall prevention model that can be embedded within community paramedic operations. Using an implementation science framework and quality improvement methods to design and optimize the model of care, the results were a marked decrease in the number of fall calls and fall related hospital transports. The results were published in Prehospital Emergency Care .

Katie Quatman-Yates and Carmen Quatman will present their research at a live webinar on September 8, 2021, at 1 PM. Attendance at this series will be monitored and may inform funding opportunities and policy change.
