Foreign Engagement with Research and Collaborations: An Evolving Environment

Over the last few years, federal funding agencies, as well as Congress, have shown increasing concern about the impact of foreign government activities on the U.S. research enterprise. There have been a number of well publicized investigations of individuals concerning their failure to disclose foreign activities or support (generically referred to as ‘Foreign Influence’). As the number of identified incidents of possible foreign influence has grown, federal funding agencies have turned to the research institutions to identify and investigate these concerns and to ensure that all foreign affiliations and interests are properly disclosed. This webinar will provide an overview of current research security concerns, disclosure requirements and resources to help the research community navigate through this evolving environment. This presentation is facilitated by the Office of Secure Research  within the Office of Research .
