Marketing and Communication Program Highlight

The marketing and communications department, led by Ali Hinkle and supported by Brooke Crockett, has the overall goal of increasing awareness and promoting the reputation of the CCTS. Between the two of them, they create and send out all communications from the CCTS including the monthly newsletters, e-blasts and social media in addition to maintaining the website and developing content for other blogs and articles. While the department is busy ensuring fluid communications of all things translational science and sharing out stories about the work the CCTS is doing, they are also working on some exciting new updates!

The marketing and communications team is preparing the CCTS website for a complete makeover in 2024 to make it more accessible and user-friendly. The goal is for the website to be an easy-to-use, accessible resource for students, faculty, staff, research scientists and community members who utilize our services. The recently awarded Clinical and Translational Science Award from the NIH frames the work of the CCTS with a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility lens therefore, accessibility is a core focus, and all communications are carefully reviewed to ensure accessibility for all.

The marketing and communications department also oversees Meta advertising for the recruitment and retention program. The CCTS has used Meta ads since 2019, and as of October 2023, our ads have had over 320,000 clicks and have reached almost eight million people. Due to this success, the marketing and communications specialist, Brooke Crockett, has presented on using Meta advertising for study recruitment to many national groups and will be speaking at a Trial Innovation Network webinar on November 6, 2023. The webinar is open to all who may be interested in the topic.
