CCTS Staff Sessions

Meet Mary Becker!

Q: What is your role at CCTS?

A: Program Manager for Recruitment & Retention Services

Q: What are you looking forward to at the CCTS?

A: I’m looking forward to seeing how our programs can all come together and move forward with our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) mission statements, as well as getting our latest grant renewal work submitted!

Q: What do you do in your pass-time?

A: I love to cook (not bake!), read, walk at the park with my husband in the evenings, and catch up what’s going on with my kids.

Q: What was your dream job when you were a kid?

A: I wanted to be a teacher for 9 months out of the year and in the summer, I wanted to be a hairdresser. LOL! I got as far as a sophomore in college and changed my major from Education to Communications, and never cut hair beyond that of my dolls…and my best friend in high school, for which I got in a lot of trouble.

Q: What's your typical day like?

A: Wake up, read emails, check texts from overnight, coffee and breakfast, work, work, eat, walk, bedtime! But that’s just Monday through Friday. I promise, my weekends are more exciting than all that!

Q: If you could have a meal with 3 famous people (dead or alive), who would they be and why?

A: Pope Francis – I would love to hear his thoughts on the church and where he thinks it’s going, and to share my ideas about a few things 😊, Kelly Clarkson – she seems so fun and keeps it real. I think we could be best friends, and Dr. Anita Krueger, she’s not famous to anyone but me. She saved my life last year and I am forever grateful.

Q: What is your proudest moment?

A: I have too many to mention. Most involve my 4 kids.

Q: Favorite band/song?

A: It really depends on what kind of mood I am in. I like songs from the 70’s – Creedence Clearwater Revival, it makes me think of my brothers, and I like songs from the 90’s when I felt like I had the world on a string.
