CCTS Staff Sessions

Meet Smitha Sasindran!

Q: What is your role at CCTS?

A: I am the Program manager for ‘Integrating Special population’ in clinical research and also CCTS liaison between The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children's Hospital campuses.

Q: How do you think the CCTS is impacting medicine?

A: We are instrumental in advancing clinical and translational science ecosystem in OSU and NCH campuses. We have a great team at CCTS to develop, demonstrate and disseminate scientific innovations to our communities in Columbus and across Ohio.

Q: What is one thing you want everyone to know about the CCTS?

A: I would like the scientific community at OSU and NCH  to know that we are here to work together with PIs and clinical research professionals to help in their translational research process and make sure they are well equipped to tackle scientific and operational problems that they encounter in the laboratories.

Q: What is your favorite thing about the CCTS?

A: The wonderful team I work with. I am very customer-focused and love to interact with our team and make an positive impact in the lives of clinical research professionals across both the institutions.

Q: What do you do in your pass-time?

A: When I am not working, I love spending time with my family and friends.

Q: What was your dream job when you were a kid?

A: Always wanted to be a teacher as a kid.

Q: If you could have a meal with 3 famous people (dead or alive), who would they be and why?

A: As I was thinking about this question and trying to look for famous people online, no one really popped out. If I’m honest, I could share a meal with everyone but that’s not possible. So, I’d rather simply sit and share a meal with those I know and care about and love the most, my family and dear friends (alive and who passed!)

Q: What is your proudest moment?

A: I am proud of all my accomplishments and failures and perhaps “The best is yet to come”.

Q: Favorite band/song?

A: I love to hear Hindi movie (Bollywood) songs from the 60’s 70’s and 80’s.
