Davis Bremer Name Change - Path to K
Davis Bremer is now called Path to K
The Davis Bremer Path to K is now the Path to K Mentored Career Development Grant. The grant is open to early career biomedical researchers in all the health science colleges. Since 2014 the CCTS has partnered with the College of Medicine to fund physician scientists to assist them on their path to a K award with funds from the Davis and Bremer College of Medicine endowments. We've had 13 researchers since that time and 85% of them have gone on receive K awards (or equivalent) and some have now moved on to R01 grants.
Now the CCTS has combined these College of Medicine funds with funds from the Office of Health Sciences to create the Path to K Mentored Career Development Grant. This grant will fund up to two physician scientists from the College of Medicine and two researchers from other health science colleges: College of Dentistry, College of Nursing, College of Optometry, College of Pharmacy, College of Public Health, and College of Veterinary Medicine.
Applicants must be early career junior faculty on the tenure or clinical track who have not received major funding as independent researchers or other large mentored career development grants.
The funding is for up to two years with 20% release time for research, funds for research supplies and staff support. Applicants assemble a mentoring team and develop a training plan to move them to their career development goals and a future K grant.
The Path to K RFA will be released on August 26th. You can attend an information session to learn more about the program on September 14th. For more information and to register for an information session click this link.
