MyChart for Recruitment Now Available!

Recruitment and Retention Services at the CCTS  is excited to announce a new recruitment tool available through their program. MyChart for Recruitment is now available to research teams that have access to IHIS.  This new tool utilizes an Honest Broker (HB) concept to identify and connect with potential volunteers that use the MyChart application.  

The process is as follows:

1. Study team seeks approval to use MyChart for Recruitment from the CCTS Recruitment and Retention program staff. Approval to use will be based on type of study, eligibility criteria, number of potential volunteers, etc. 

2. After Recruitment and Retention approves, they will provide guidance on next steps, starting with seeking IRB approval to add MyChart for Recruitment as a Recruitment method.

3. Study team will need to work with Research Informatics Services to build their query to identify active MyChart users who will be identified from the electronic health record using eligibility criteria.  

4. An Honest Broker will send the recruitment messages to the potential volunteer.  The messages will contain a brief study description in plain language with recruitment boiler plate language.

5. Study team members who have access to IHIS will be able to communicate with potential volunteers through in basket messaging.
