SciVal Experts to promote and facilitate collaboration among OSU researchers
The Ohio State University Center for Clinical and Translational Science has partnered with The Ohio State University College of Medicine Office of Research to bring SciVal Experts to OSU. SciVal Experts is a third-party verified searchable database that demonstrates expertise, fosters collaborations and confirms publication information for faculty at Ohio State who collaborate with the CCTS, CCC, DHLRI or COM.
SciVal Experts provides the health sciences community at OSU with opportunities for collaboration among faculty, regardless of organizational affiliation. This innovative, web-based portal automatically aggregates and populates publication data to clearly demonstrate numerous areas of expertise across all research disciplines in the health sciences.
SciVal Experts makes it more convenient to identify expertise and collaborate across the Ohio State campus by automatically creating profiles for University researchers. Each unique profile, comprised of publication histories and co-author networks, produces a visual indication, or “fingerprint,” of relevant data and concepts that succinctly describes each researcher’s distinctive expertise. Using SciVal Experts, researchers can browse profiles and search by concept to identify potential collaborators and track their publications..
SciVal Experts was brought to the health sciences community at Ohio State in an effort to improve the ability to identify researcher expertise and potential collaborators throughout campus and is a reflection of our continued commitment to becoming a world-class research organization. Whether using this tool to identify expertise, understand collaborative relationships, or track publications, we expect use of this tool to advance the research mission’s promise of improving people’s lives.
