Research Training Programs at Nationwide Children's Hospital

Research education and training are vital to the mission of Nationwide Children's Hospital

As a top-ten free-standing pediatric research center and an academic affiliate of The Ohio State University, The Research Institute has an outstanding faculty, dedicated to training and mentoring the next generation of scientists in pediatric research. Mentoring is essential to our institutional culture and goals.

Specific training opportunities are available for graduate students, medical students, post-doctoral fellows, pediatric subspecialty fellows and pediatric residents.

Investigators at The Research Institute are teaching faculty in various Departments at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, including the Departments of Pediatrics, Pathology, Surgery, Otolaryngology and Psychiatry.

As a result, a large number of students and trainees are based at The Research Institute, including undergraduates, residents and fellows in pediatrics and pediatric surgery, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows. Instruction occurs in informal and formal didactic sessions, one-on-one interactions, and hands-on laboratory training.
