Translational Therapeutics Think Tank (T4)

Providing consultation and guidance for investigators working in novel drug/device discovery and development within the Ohio State and Nationwide Children's Hospital communities

The mission of the Translational Therapeutics Think Tank (T4) is to provide consultation and guidance for investigators working in novel drug/device discovery and development within the Ohio State and Nationwide Children's Hospital communities. T4 services include:

  • Providing guidance in experimental design and interpretation
  • Identifying barriers to project success
  • Assisting T32, K12 and pilot recipients with resource identification
  • Providing assistance to identify relevant veterinary disease models
  • Guiding projects from preclinical to formal clinical testing

Investigators can request a meeting with a panel of content experts customized to their specific research-related questions including study design; pediatrics-specific study issues; drug, device and biomarker development; ethical and regulatory issues; navigating clinical research questions; laboratory or clinical animal modeling and pathology; pharmacology; and toxicology/pathology. After a brief (5-10 minute) over-view of the project given by the investigator, the T4 group will engage in a target discussion with the instigator allowing them to brainstorm plans for early-stage projects while providing input to help enhance the likelihood of success and connecting them with collaborators and other resources across Ohio State and Nationwide Children's Hospital to enhance their work.
