BLOOM Research Group

BLOOM is a new group designed for clinical research professionals to help strengthen and enhance the clinical research community at Nationwide Children's Hospital and Ohio State University.

Mission: To engage, support, and provide resources to the clinical research community which will lead to recruitment, community ambassadorship, retention, employee engagement, and contribute to the patient and family experience.

Vision: Our vision is to create avenues that will allow our clinical research community to be intertwined and engaged through collaboration, education, training, and mentorship within Nationwide Children’s and Ohio State.

Goal: Our goal is to strengthen and enhance the clinical research community at Nationwide Children’s and Ohio State by giving professionals the resources to discuss how best to address knowledge gaps in the clinical research field and to continue to grow the clinical research community.

Meetings:We hold monthly in person steering committee meetings, quarterly speaking engagements, and bi-monthly educational sessions. Learning opportunities include seminars, mock learning simulations (i.e. a mock FDA audit), and round tables with project managers, CRCs, regulatory coordinators etc. to discuss how best to address the knowledge gaps and be innovative in how to expand and grow the clinical research community.

Membership: Active members participate in at least two BLOOM-sponsored events each year, volunteer for at least one shift at BLOOM-sponsored volunteer event and attend at least 50% of BLOOM committee meetings.
