Education & Training Programs
The overall goal of the Research Education, Training, and Career Development Program is to establish and cultivate an institution-wide learning environment that is inherently linked to all aspects of the CCTS. This is achieved through an expansion of current basic, clinical, and translational science education and training programs
This Section Contains:
-
Degree Programs
The CCTS supports a number of degree programs that offer specialized training in clinical and translational science including the Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in Clinical and Translational Science, the MPH in Clinical Translational Science, the PhD in Translational Science through the Integrated Biomedical Graduate Program (IBGP), and the MS in Medical Science
-
Mentored Research Training Program (TL1)
The overall goal of the Mentored Research Training Program (TL1) is to provide trainees (students) with the skills required to develop a career in trans-disciplinary clinical and translational research relevant to human health. The award provides a stipend, tuition support, and research funding
-
Career Development Program (KL2)
The Career Development Program (KL2) provides salary support and protected time for highly-qualified junior faculty to conduct multidisciplinary clinical or translational research. In addition to salary support, KL2 Scholars will receive funding for research expense
-
Research Education and Training Programs
Understanding that education and training do not only take place in the classroom, the CCTS offers several additional educational workshops, trainings, and programs. These events are usually open to the campus research community at little to no cost
-
Mentorship
Fellows and junior faculty members typically require a research mentor to help guide the development of their research careers. The CCTS offers a mentor training program as well as a Mentorship Advisory Council that will meet with mentees or mentors to discuss mentorship issues.
